  1. Hi John - took it upon myself to formally record Haddington Athletic team line-ups of 1940-41 tonight, and can therefore inform you Alex McCrae made his debut for the Hi Hi in a Scottish Junior Cup fifth round tie at home to Armadale Thistle on 15 February 1941, in front of a crowd estimated at 2000. He's first referenced in the match report as "Haddington's young recruit" and his debut performance was described as "outstanding".

  2. Should've mentioned that the game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Armadale winning the replay 5-0 at Volunteer Park a fortnight later.
